Air Lock in 1.6 TDCI (2014) Hi, while sorting one problem I managed to get a airlock in my 1.6 TDCI engine. The fuel pipe from the filter to the engine was not on properly. I reckon the best way to resolve it is pull the fuel through from the fuel return pipe. This seems to work, as i get it to start once but then it stalls again. Checked oil level it is still clear and the same level it was after the oil change (5 marks below max.) Using your hand vacuum pump, connect the pipe to the centre outlet of the filter (which you should not have connected yet). Then pump your vacuum pump until you see fuel start to come out the filter through your pipe. Then remove the hand vacuum pump, and connect the centre pipe using the method described above. The area should now look like this.
